more about me
I'm Sarah. Midwestern gal
+ professional third wheel.
I'm an artistic wedding photographer based in Milwaukee, a city I sincerely love to call home. More importantly, I'm a human who lives for cabin adventures with friends, hot coffee, exciting stories, delicious vegetarian food and nights spent belting out Madonna at the karaoke bar! Apart from photography, my three great loves are my career, my dog, and my human—a nerdy, bearded man who makes me laugh every damn day.

these are a few of my favorite things...
"When it comes to wedding photography I consider myself a professional third wheel; I'm someone you could chill out with, someone who appreciates the authentic and unfiltered version of you! As your photographer, I promise to shoot fearlessly, go against the grain, notice the small details and most importantly, tell your authentic love story!"
Q:
cutting to the chase...how much do you cost and what do we get?
Standard wedding day photography begins at a $3,300 investment and always includes 9 hours of coverage, 2 photographers, and high-res digital images delivered through a gorgeous online gallery. Keep in mind that most of my couples invest an average of $3,800 - 4,500
If this price tag doesn't suit your budget, shoot me an email detailing your specific needs—I might have some options for you!

Q:
how long have you been a wedding photographer?
I've been using a camera for basically my entire life! After graduating MIAD with a BFA in photography (back in 2011) I landed in the wedding business as an assistant. Since capturing my first real wedding in 2014, I've witnessed over 100 love stories!

Q:
how many weddings do you shoot per year?
I want all of my couples to be happy. Like, over the moon happy. I love being a photographer, and I also love taking naps. For these reasons I limit the number of weddings I shoot per year to 25. I get lots of rest, work super hard for my couples and never forget to take my B12 vitamin.

Q:
how would you describe your style?
My background in video production has certainly influenced my shooting style as a photographer—I love to capture movement! When I'm shooting posed portraits I like to have couples look at one another, share in laughter, and move—that's the trick to making posed pictures look natural!
When it comes to my editing style, I focus on three important things: skin tone, black point, and highlights. I start by balancing light and color so that skin tones to look rich, healthy and warm. Then, I make sure the image has some contrast and a true black, as opposed to soft, washed out shadows. Lastly, crushed highlights and a little grain give my images that cinematic film look!

Q:
when will we receive our photos?
Officially, anywhere from 3 weeks to 3 months—it really depends on the time of year. Turn around is typically quicker between April and July, and slower between August and December. That said, 5 weeks is the sweet spot! I don't rush it, because I want you to truly love every photo I deliver!

Q:
will we receive every single image you capture?
No, but rest assured, the images that don't make the cut are just duplicates, technically flawed, or real bloopers! Although, I do sometimes include those, too ;)
I don't guarantee a set number of images in my contract, but for a full wedding day you can expect roughly 800 edited photos.

Q:
What's the deal with copyright?
Most photographers, like me, include a limited license and print release in their wedding contracts, which gives the client freedom to download, share and print their wedding images. A limited license is not the same as copyright ownership.
The copyright won't belong to you, but don't panic—that simply means you can't sell or profit from your wedding pictures. (Which, why would you do that anyway?)

Q:
do you offer print services?
YES! Your client gallery will have a built-in print shop with a wide selection of professional quality products such as mounted prints, framed prints, canvas wraps, and albums. Your friends and family will also be able to order prints through your gallery shop, as well as take advantage of quarterly print shop discounts!

Q:
What kind of equipment do you use?
I'm a Canon girl, I rock prime lenses (my 50mm is the real MVP) and I keep it simple with lighting equipment. I'm also a big fan of my HoldFast harness!

Do you have insurance?
Abso-friggin-lutely. If your venue wants to see proof of insurance, that's no problem at all!

Do we need to feed you at our reception?
Yes. Without food, I stop the standing and the walking and the words-putting-into-sentence-doing.
